Cristo Rey

We are in the process of establishing an innovative learning experience for economically disadvantaged high schoolers in Seattle, WA.

The Richard and Maude Ferry Foundation is actively working to establish a Cristo Rey high school in the Seattle area.

Cristo Rey is a Catholic high school for economically-disadvantaged youth. This unique schooling experience features faith-based, college preparatory classes and real-world work experience through a work-study program. This is done through four days of challenging classes and one day spent in a corporation or business that helps to sponsor the school.

“The older I grow, the more I am convinced that there is no education which one can get from books and costly apparatus that is equal to that which can be gotten from contact with great men and women.” -- Booker T. Washington
