Funding Academic Scholarships
In 2020 we partnered with Fulcrum to establish a relationship-focused scholarship program for archdiocesan schools called Becraft Scholars. Named after the founder of one of the country’s first Catholic schools for Black children, the program recruits cohorts of 12 kindergarteners each year and makes a nine-year commitment to their families to provide a $5,000 annual scholarship. Priority is given to Black and African American families.
To celebrate Becraft Scholars growing into its third year with 36 (!) students, the Foundation and Bob and Julie Breshock hosted a community launch and fundraising event at Holy Family Bilingual on September 15th. Dubbed “More than a Moment” the event highlighted that our commitment to racial justice will remain long after the world has moved on to the next shiny object.

The highlight of the event was the stories and voices in this video.
If you feel led to help support Becraft Scholars, please donate today. Every dollar helps kids in our communities have access to an education that can transform their hearts, minds, and futures.
